CPI(M) office vandalized in Dinhata after Trinamool rally

Members of CPI(M)'s student wing SFI and AISA staged a protest at Jadavpur University on Saturday, surrounding West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu over alleged issues in the education system. During the demonstration, accusations surfaced that the minister was attacked, though details of the alleged assault remain unclear. Security personnel intervened, and Basu later left the campus amid heavy police presence.

Hours later, political tensions escalated in Dinhata as CPI(M) accused TMC workers of vandalizing its party office following a rally led by TMC’s Dinhata town block president Bishu Dhar. CPI(M) leader Shubhralok Das alleged that TMC workers ransacked the office, breaking chairs, tables, windows, and doors. “This hooliganism has been going on for a long time in Dinhata,” Das claimed, also questioning the police's inaction despite the incident occurring close to the police station. TMC has not issued an official response to the allegations.

The events at Jadavpur University and Dinhata reflect ongoing political clashes between TMC and CPI(M) in the state. CPI(M) has called for police intervention regarding the vandalism, while TMC leaders have distanced themselves from the attack claims. Law enforcement authorities have yet to confirm any arrests or action regarding the incidents.
